Pastel Splatter

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! Well I mean, at least it's not Monday anymore. Today I have for you an experiment of the sorts. I've only tried the splatter technique once and that was around Halloween  so I decided it was time to do another, better one. I used a small straw for this design, because I find bigger ones don't work as well and get messy quite quickly.

The nudeish-pink colour that you see peeking out was my base colour, China Glaze Sunset Sail. It has a subtle shimmer, and is a perfect nude for my practice hand.

The pink colour that you see is Essie Tart Deco, another amazing colour. It has no shimmer, and is a salmon/coral colour. 

The purple that I used is Colour Club Pucci-Licious. WHAT A NAME, ahah. I love this colour, it's a different purple and matched the other pastel-type colours very nicely. 

The light blue is a franken of mine, Tiffany's New Shoes. 

Finally, the teal is China Glaze Four Leaf Clover, amazing colour, and looks different with almost every colour you match it with. 

Gradient Manicure and New Practice Hand!

Hi all! I recently ordered a practice hand and fingers off of Ebay, and it arrived today! I was surprised to get an eye shadow, and two nail brushes as bonuses! I also had nail art flowers arrive today! I'm super pleased with the quality of  these products. The hand looks fairly real, and bends properly. The "slits" where the fake nails go in are a great shape and they're deep enough to not be annoying. Over-all great product! You can buy this exact product on Ebay from this seller.

On to the nail art! I love this colour scheme, it turned out so nice. I did the gradient using a makeup sponge, and Essie Meet Me at Sunset, Essie Tart Deco, and Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle White.

Micro Beads, Rhinestones, Stars and Stamping!

These took a serious chunk of time. I decided to do a friend's nails, and ended up going all out. The grey on the pinky and middle finger and thumb is Essie Chinchilly, the pink on the pointer and other pinky is Colour Club is Warhol, the blue on the ring finger is Colour Club Chelsea Girl, and I stamped on the pointer and thumb using Sally Hansen Insta Dry Silver Sweep. The Plate I used for stamping was Konad M57 and I got the micro beads from Ebay and the dollar store! 

**I used Seche Vite as a top coat!

Micro Beads and New Cheeky Plates!

New Cheeky Plates! Incredibly excited! I used plate c52 for the swirls! Base colours are Essie Turquoise Caicos (accent nail) and Colour Club ChelseaGirl. Sally Hansen Insta Dry Silver Sweep for the stamping. Micro beads were bought off ebay! 

Mix It Up

I work at a hardware store, and one day a co-worker of mine was mixing paint for a customer. The first picture is what the paint looked like. It inspired me, and the next two are the design i came up with.

Super easy to do! Just paint nails white, and then using a thin brush swipe blue around. I then used a darker blue on top. I didn't let the colours dry so they would blend. After dried, put some red dots on randomly using a toothpick. Then I painted the rest of my nails the red.

First Tutorial!
Okay, so. Before you start, pick two colours. Make sure that they are close, but different shades. Ex: One darker, one lighter. Rub a bit of acetone on your nails to let the polish stick better.

Step 1: Paint whole nail darker colour. Let dry.
Step 2: Using a dotting tool, or several different sizes, make dots on the upper corner of the nail varying in size. I made the dots in black because i think the way that looked more than white.
Step 3: Again using a dotting tool, make smaller dots on a couple of the black/white dots you just made with your lighter colour.
Step 4: Make even smaller dots on one or two of the lighter dots, using black/white again.
Step 5: Top coat, and let your nails dry. Then moisturize, and use cuticle cream/oil.
